What are free clinics?

Free clinics offer healthcare services to people who can't pay for treatment and don't have insurance. These non-profit organizations utilize a volunteer/staff model to provide a range of medical, dental, pharmacy, vision, and behavioral health services to economically disadvantaged individuals.

Clinics are 501(c)3 tax-exempt organizations or operate as a program component or affiliate of a 501(c)3 organization.

Did you know there are over 1,400 free clinics in the United States? Idaho is home to 12 free clinics that provide services to over 12,000 individuals. Free clinics have been helping you and your neighbors in Idaho for fifty years. Most free clinics were started by generous individuals who saw an unfilled need within their communities. It takes a lot of love to operate a free clinic. Many individuals and organizations give their time, money, and expertise to operate free clinics.

For every $1 donated to an Idaho free clinic, $5 worth of services are provided.
